The HTC One X9 leaked in a press image that appeared on China’s Weibo.

HTC CEO Peter Chou presents the new HTC First phone during an event at Facebook headquarters during an event at Facebook headquarters on April 4, 2013 in Menlo Park, California.

This has something to do with word that another potential HTC device could be out in the open with the HTC One X9.

Reporting on the device, Android Authority stated that a poster pertaining to it appeared on a French language website and it described how the HTC One X9 would have “city smarts”.

Aside from that, another intriguing feature could come in the form of the display screen which will allegedly be a 5-inch Quad HD (1440×2560 pixel) display. It’s pretty hard to judge the One X9 in terms of design on this photo alone, but it looks as if the phone sports premium materials. There’s a 3,500mAh battery onboard and HTC’s old favourite things like BoomSound stereo front speakers and a metal unibody are also making a return. Probably none of these device problems were not as highlighted by the users if HTC will have placed it on the market at a smaller price, well aligned to its performance.

Not much details are known so we’re leaving this one as a rumor. The existence of a Play Store page simply means owners can expect updates somewhere down the line, just as we’ve seen in the past.

Sources in the industry say that the HTC One X9 will be underpinned by a beastly hardware platform.

PhoneRadar said the One X9 smartphone, which is being compared to the latest iPhone 6S thanks to its specs, will be sold around 2,999 yuan or approximately USD472.

Then again, seeing it debut with an Android 6.0 M out of the box will surely be welcome.
