HTC’s One A9 leaks hint at an Apple iPhone ripoff
On the bottom, the 3.5 mm headphone jack and the speaker grille can be identified, which suggests that the dual front-facing BoomSound speakers are no longer available. Recognition is important, and we don’t doubt that the upcoming One A9 is going to immediately attract the attention of those who are already acquainted with HTC and know how the company producers their phones in general.

HTC are generally known for high-end Android devices, but it looks like the company might be planning to expand their reach and establish positions in other market segments in order to become more familiar to people looking for devices that aren’t so expensive, and yet still offer a nice combination of features. This isn’t exactly surprising, given the fact that former leaks in September had also showed images of the device’s build, albeit less detailed. The protruding rear camera is reportedly of the 13-megapixel variety, while the front shooter is said to be a 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera.
On the busy bottom edge of the device is a microUSB 2.0 port (bad luck to those hoping for Type-C) that is slightly off-center. Finally on the left side there’s a SIM card slot and microSD tray while on the right you can see the power button and volume control.
The HTC One A9 is not expected to be HTC’s high technology release but more of a mid-range device with a competitive price to match. Unconfirmed specs so far include a Snapdragon 617 processor, 5-inch AMOLED display with Full HD resolution, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage (expandable). The HTC One A9 is said to be 7mm thick and house a 2150mAh battery. We will need to wait until the device is officially announced to understand availability and pricing, and to glean a better understanding of what HTC means when it comes to the “hero” moniker they have applied to the One A9.
