As for the handsets that will be receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow via OTA updates, the list is of course topped by the One M9 and the One M8. On most Android mobiles, you simply need to scroll down to “About phone” at the very bottom of the menu and give it a tap. “It may not be the top Android device maker or the company may not be even making a lot of money these days, but it’s been working closely with Google lately for a few services”, explained Android Community.
While the rough time frame for this release has been announced, HTC hasn’t provided an exact date for when it will begin. A new leak shows the preliminary list of smartphones earmarked by HTC to receive Marshmallow update.
Google isn’t alone in getting in on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow fun.
Could HTC’s hero device HTC One A9 launch on October 20? “Revealed 10/20 #BeBrilliant”, the tweet read.
According to their announcement via the official HTC USA Twitter account, updates for Android Marshmallow 6.0 will start rolling out before the end of this year.
Taking a closer look at the image posted, HTC mentioned that not all carriers within the region will have the Marshmallow build before 2015 ends, which means it’s not time to celebrate yet.

Whether the projected HTC Android Marshmallow device will be the Aero A9, it still remains a mystery. When HTC first arrived its phones had surprised many consumers, who welcomed its units. Previous reports claim that the next handset will sport either a MediaTek deca-core chip or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615.
