Due to rising competition in the midrange from the budding Chinese players HTC has been going through a tough patch in the market and below par response for their past year flagship aka the One M8 hasn’t helped out either. The new Desire trio will launch sometime in March, although pricing has yet to be disclosed.

Well, they will surely need to do something unorthodox if they need to survive in the midrange chiefly dominated by the spec insane Chinese! They’re finished in a tactile plastic and the new micro splatter effect is interesting. The Desire 530, Desire 630 and Desire 825 are standard fare at the entry and lower mid-range in hardware terms, but HTC has managed to bring in a splash of color to the entire lineup that the company claims is inspired by “streetwear fashion”.

Did they wake a chip from coma? It has the same Snapdragon 400 chipset with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, with microSD expansion. Apart from that HTC as always have included a memory card slot. The HTC Desire 630 will be dual-SIM only and offers Cat. The front camera is 5MP. The rear camera is 13MP with optical image stabilisation, and can shoot video in 4K. Both the cameras can record 1080p footage. Unlike the A9, there’s no fingerprint sensor, and HTC’s trademark BoomSound front-facing speakers make a return for superior audio quality. If you’re fond of taking selfies but find it hard to do so, all three Desire smartphones have Auto Selfie and Voice Selfie Modes, among other things.

The HTC Desire 630 is essentially a slimmed down version of its costlier sibling namely the Desire 825. RAM is bumped up to 2 GB; however, it contains the same 16 GB of internal storage. “The screen is a bit bigger than the others at 5.5”; however, it has the same 720p resolution, resulting in a smaller pixel density. The Desire 825 comes supporting Hi-Res Audio. And it’s also a dual-SIM device, allowing you to make and receive calls on two different numbers, while using one for LTE data.

The Desire 530 is the cheapest of the Desire sibling that were launched at the MWC in Barcelona. “It has the same 5” 720p screen, but the chipset drops to Snapdragon 210 with 1.5GB of RAM. This is yet another indication towards HTC’s “selfieclination”! In select regions, the Desire 630 and Desire 825 will also come bundled with a Hi-Res headset that delivers higher fidelity music straight out of the box. “So today we’re launching the most unique Desire devices yet”.
