HTC unveils the long-awaited HTC 10 flagship smartphone

Just as LG did with the LG G5, which is available in a downgraded version in Latin America, HTC will launch the “10 Lifestyle” model in select countries. The phone certainly looks good in the pictures on HTC’s website though I’ll reserve final judgement until I actually get one in my hand.

The official promotional video of the upcoming flagship smartphone, HTC 10 (aka HTC One M10) has been leaked from a little unknown leakster, Niccolo Roli on YouTube. A move which will likely appeal to both the One M faithful and those looking for a newer and more modern device. It will also run on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

Also, HTC 10 Lifestyle packs only 3GB of RAM instead of 4GB, and it will include an Adreno 510 graphics processing unit. HTC itself has been putting out some information on Twitter, trying to generate buzz around the phone.

Confirmed by HTC, the smartphone will come with its own BoomSound Audio technology. The phone’s design and hardware suggests that HTC is taking aggressive steps to reclaim a corner of the competitive smartphone market. It remains to be seen if HTC will introduce a more toned down version of the Sense UI, perhaps closer to stock Android.

The HTC 10 will go on sale directly from the company or via network carriers from May. The HTC 10 also comes with 5MP UltraSelfie camera at the front with 1.34µm, an f/1.8 aperture, wide-angle lens, OIS and uses screen as a flash, which should make selfie lovers quite happy. The device has been dubbed as HTC 10 Lifestyle.

The HTC 10 comes with 5.2-inch display with 2K resolution.

The HTC 10 now comes in 2 colors: Silver and Black, although a third, gold option was shown in the unveiling video.

There is also a long-standing rumour of a world class 12-megapixel (UltraPixel) rear camera with UltraPixel sensor, optical image stabilisation, and 4K video recording.

The HTC 10 – the successor to the firm’s M9 that was released in 2015 – had been heavily rumoured online for some time, with the Taiwanese firm claiming it has been working on the phone “behind closed doors for 12 months”.
