Huawei introduces Nova mid-range smartphones at Ifa
Huawei has gone from strength to strength in the United Kingdom recently, with releases including the flagship Huawei P9 proving popular in Britain, and the company isn’t stopping there either.

Today’s smartphone users demand a device that empowers them to capture and share their favorite moments, anytime and anywhere. Both these smartphones come with Leica branded dual rear cameras along with laser autofocus and dual tone LED flash.
However, the assumption would be that the average buyer of a mid-range phone like this would care less about raw power to process video, and more about battery life – and there, Huawei is claiming the Nova can last about 30% longer than the Snapdragon 615, and offer 40% more grunt. The company is now the No 1 smartphone maker in China and No 3 globally in terms of shipments and its online-only brand, Honor is doing significantly well in markets like India. It was unveiled at the exclusive event held in London in early April this year. And now there’s another pair of Huawei phones to consider: the Huawei Nova and Huawei Nova Plus.
The device is priced at Rs. 39,999 and is sold online exclusively through Flipkart.
Forget worries about Huawei’s second-rate design or build quality.
Wrapped around this silicon is a 8.4-inch, 2,560 x 1,600 2K IPS display with a pixel density of 359 pixels-per-inch, which after using the tablet for a few days I can say is sharp, responsive, and very easy on the eye. Huawei Nova is the smaller of the two offerings with a 5-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. There is a fingerprint sensor placed on the back of the device.
The operating system is Android Marshmallow 6.0, and loaded over the top of that is Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 4.1.
Its stable mate the Nova Plus sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 3,340mAh cell, 16-megapixel rear shooter with OIS, and 8-megapixel auxiliary snapper. The specially developed camera software merges the colors taken by the RGB sensor with the detail of the monochrome sensor.
On the flip side, the Huawei Nova Plus features the same 8Mp front-facing camera as the Nova.
The Huawei P9 also supports manual mode in the camera app and gives RAW output. Huawei will be launching both handsets in 50 territories, including France, Germany, Canada, Spain, and of course, China.
Huawei is also offering a premium after-sales service with the Huawei P9.

This one’s different, trust us. Oh, and there’s a nano SIM card slot in two of the variants of the slate that allow you to make use of LTE connectivity.
