Huawei P9 Lite Leaks Ahead Of April 6 launch

Huawei has posted various P9 related teasers, and the company officials have confirmed that the phone will be launched on the 6th of April, with the launch event being held in London. Retail branding is not yet known for this handset – we’re calling it the P9 “Lite”, though its internal codename is Huawei Venus – but a person familiar with the phone tipped several of its key features to VentureBeat. This will be the first high-end smartphone this China-based company will release this year, and judging by the leaks, it will be an interesting product, read on. Lots of circles on the marketing campaign materials, urging us to “Change the way you see the world”. According to GSM Arena, Huawei President Ren Zhengfei was recently seen holding a smartphone that looks like the upcoming P9, particularly because of the dual-cam setup on the back.

While these images don’t really uncover anything new, they do confirm that the previous photo leaks weren’t fakes. The regular P9 is expected to pack in a Kirin 950, Mali-T880 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

Phone Arena says that the samples used in the teaser images seem to indicate that the camera setup features speed and long exposure.

The P9 will run on Android 6.0 and with a battery capacity of 3,000 mAh. The overall design will be kind of similar to the Huawei P8 and the casing will be made out of metal.
