Huawei revenue up 40% to $36.75 bn in first half
Although operating margin for the period has declined from 18% to 12%, the company posted stronger revenue growth for the period, slightly offsetting the decline.

Apart from that Sabrina Meng, Chief Financial Officer at Huawei is mentioning that the company is looking forward to achieve a positive financial result by the end of this year.
The first six months of 2016 also saw Huawei release its MateBook, the company first 2-in-1 laptop. It is now the third largest smartphone maker, only behind Apple Inc. and Samsung.
Sales in the first quarter for the company increased by 59%, as Huawei shipped more than 28 million smartphones.
The Chinese giant announced in June that thanks to “unprecedented global sales” of its new flagship smartphones, the P9 and P9 Plus, its global smartphone market share grew to 8.5 percent.
Despite the popularity of its smartphone worldwide, the United States has been the one country where it has not been able to establish a footing. While Huawei has continually denied the allegations, it has struggled to rebound and reassert itself in the market.
Huawei is also in a long-standing patent dispute with Samsung. Its three business segments comprise carrier and enterprise networks, as well as consumer devices.

“Huawei’s cloud computing, storage and SDN products, and Safe City and Electric Power IoT solutions, have been widely adopted in sectors such as finance, power, transport, public security, education and media”, Huawei stated.
