Even though it is only in the developmental phase yet, Huawei’s breakthrough in the battery business is real.

In the video, a battery is taken from a Huawei smartphone and recharged in a prototype charging unit. And most of that advancement is going to support bigger screens and more features rather than providing longer battery life.
Charging technologies have made many advances recently, fast charging being one and wireless charging another.
Huawei has announced a major breakthrough on the latter front: the company says its new batteries can be charged 10 times more quickly than existing batteries, and can reach a 50 percent charge in just a few minutes.
In a statement, Huawei expressed its confidence that these quick-charging batteries “will lead to a a new revolution in electronic devices, especially with regard to mobile phones, electric vehicles, wearable devices, and mobile power supplies”.
Huawei said in a press release that by using the advanced next-gen technologies, the new batteries have achieved remarkable charging speed. That then acted as a catalyst for capturing and transmitting lithium through carbon bonds, all without supposedly decreasing energy density or battery life. These new bonded atoms are key for the increase in charging speed of batteries, and they will also not affect the battery life. Only time will tell if the battery will actually make it into our phones, and we’ll believe the miracle when we see it, but users around the world are crossing their fingers that the Chinese multinational is onto something.
Huawei’s Watt Lab works closely with industry partners to promote technological development and pursue a new energy era. The company did not mention when we can expect these batteries. This is a technology which Huawei notes has now been approved and certified by its terminal test department.

“Soon, we will all be able to charge our batteries to full power in the time it takes to grab a coffee!”. This technology can permit an empty 600 mAh capacity battery to be charged to 68 percent capacity in two minutes.
