Huawei Watch finally goes on sale in the UK
That’s one for Joe Public to decide – but, with Apple apparently struggling to shift units of its own strap-on smart screen, Huawei might need a trick or two up its proverbial sleeve to counter the trend towards lower-priced luxury in the wearable market.

Huawei unveiled its first Android Wear smartwatch, which looks to be the Apple Watch of the Android Wear market with a high-end design and sapphire glass display, at this year’s Mobile World Congress. Don’t expect to see an affordable device here, as the price begins at £289 for the silver model that comes with a leather band.
We got the chance to speak with Huawei’s head of Watch Product, Mengran Duan at the company’s headquarters in Shenzhen, today.
A specific release date hasn’t been announed yet by Huawei, but you can grab the Huawei Watch from Selfridges, vMail and the Google Store from the end of November.
There are other models that come with different colors and bands as well, but they will cost extra.
If that’s still too cheap for you, there’s a rose gold model, which is rather pricey at £599.
We in the United Kingdom have had to wait another few months, but the Huawei Watch is now available to purchase.
Early reviews for the Huawei watch have also been promising with 4-star ratings already appearing online.
There’s also a Qualcomm processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage and Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity.
The Huawei Watch is looking like a true competitor to the Apple Watch in a market that is slowly becoming saturated.

“Thanks to an increase in marketing focus and the weakening of brands such as Sony, HTC, and Motorola, Huawei was able to rise to second place among Android brands in Europe from sixth place in 2014”, reported Carolina Milanesi, chief of research at Kantar Worldpanel ComTech.
