Huffington Post bans Donald Trump from politics section
The site explained, “Our reason is simple: Trump’s campaign is a sideshow”. “We won’t take the bait”.

But you couldn’t wish away Herman Cain just because he made terrifying campaign ads. “From Our Political Reporting”.
This campaign cycle, Trump is the elephant in the room.
But the provocative editorial call quickly came under fire from both sides of the political spectrum.
One might conclude that Huffington Post’s announcement amounts to the same Trump-style grandstanding they claim to condemn. They will indeed “take the bait”.
If they were that, they would know who’s making real progress in the polls and would treat the story accordingly. Instead their coverage of Trump will take place in their Entertainment section.
For what it’s worth, though it must have hurt him to some extent, Trump seems determined to shake those haters off much like Taylor Swift urges on that recent hit song of hers. Some of those 21 people are more likely to reach that level than others, but no one has cast a single vote, and no one will for another 199 days.
Wrong: At the journalism site Poynter.org, James Warren thinks the move is “especially dubious in an era where the nexus of entertainment and politics is often quite obvious and growing”. Al Franken; movie star and ex-California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger; and actor-turned-President Ronald Reagan, Fox News points out.
James Warren, the chief media critic for the Poynter Institute for the Media Studies, said that HuffPost had erred in its decision. His policies might be outlandish, but more than simply having some outlandish stances on various issues, and some views that are downright insulting to a vast majority of our public – he should at least be shown the dignity of being what he is. “Something of the sort happened long ago with some guys who were actually professional actors and were similarly disparaged”, he wrote.
The decision has been met with some serious criticism from media. “You do remember Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger, don’t you?”
Trump poses a crisis for his party.
Even Sarah Palin, perhaps the ultimate in Republican clown shows, was never put in the Entertainment section – not even when she praised Donald Trump in June. “It is not up to The Huffington Post or any other publication to decide which candidates are legitimate”. “They’ll still be covering him“, Grim told The Mirror by email.

Trump stories still end up on the homepage, which is the most important real estate on the blog. I do not like his politics or what he says but I will defend his right to say it, as a media outlet you should know better! Nearly six in ten Republicans said they had a favorable opinion of Trump in WaPo-ABC numbers released earlier this week, an nearly total reversal from polling done in late May when 65 percent of GOPers had an unfavorable opinion of The Donald.
