Last week, Ambrose got back at Y2J by destroying his $15,000 light-up jacket. Once it was set in stone, the “Lunatic Fringe” chose to reveal the stipulation for the hardcore pay-per-view (PPV), and it was something totally unheard of in WWE.
The feud between Ambrose and Jericho has intensified since the day after April 3’s WrestleMania 32 and may come to a head on Sunday.
The cage was your basic chain-link fence structure, however there were weapons fixed to the top of it. Ambrose’s Asylum would probably be a smash hit in the Attitude Era, but it remains to be seen how extreme WWE will allow things to get in Shane and Stephanie McMahon’s New Era.
This won’t be an ordinary steel cage match.
The amusing part about this being the first-ever Asylum Match is that TNA featured something called the Steel Asylum Match in the past. Homicide had even said that it was built for smaller wrestlers and impossible for others to win. Now, WWE doesn’t have to break out the Elimination Chamber and they’re also adding a twist to the hardcore match.

Ambrose and Jericho met at WWE Payback on May 1, and Ambrose defeated the former WWE World Heavyweight champion. For Jericho and Ambrose to reach them, they’ll have to scale the cage and pull them down – meaning there could be spot insane high-flying spots.
