Hugh Hewitt tells Republicans to dump Donald Trump

Earlier Tuesday, a seemingly chastened Trump gave a scripted speech in which he sought to reassure party colleagues that his remarks in recent days, branded by many of those colleagues as racist, did not represent the candidate he was about to become.

“We’re just waiting to hear from them”, said North Carolina GOP Chairman Robin Hayes, who points out that the state party has a field organization that’s prepared to plug into the campaign once they reach out.
