Hugo Lloris demands his side do not lose to Sunderland
With the exception of 26-year-old left-back Danny Rose, who remains sidelined with a nagging hamstring injury, Pochettino brings a full-strength side into the game against lowly Sunderland – a team that Tottenham Hotspur has defeated in 14 of their last 16 league matches at White Hart Lane.

“We are a team that sometimes needs more time to settle”. He trained hard in pre-season but was frustrated not to have the opportunity to compete and play games. But he is important for us and will add his quality’. In the Monaco game, they didn’t have any chances but went on to score twice because of mistakes.
“It is hard to understand why in every game we have some period in the first half that is hard to get the pace of the game and to manage and handle the game like we normally used to do”. “We’ll see what happens tomorrow when we assess all the players and take the best decision for the team”.
Tottenham’s fifth week of the Premier League season sees Sunderland visit White Hart Lane on Sunday in a match that both sides will feel a result is absolutely essential.
However Mauricio Pochettino’s side has yet to lose in the Premier League this season – making them the heavy favourites in their face-off against Sunderland.
“There has to be a building job here, but we have a great chance to prove ourselves”.
Despite Tottenham’s poor start to the competition, Lloris wants Tottenham to change the perception of English clubs in Europe.
Lloris said: ‘We used to say that a big team doesn’t lose twice in a row and we are a big team.
“It’s not enough to talk only with words, you need to show the right attitude, more than we showed in the first half”, said Tottenham France goalkeeper and Captain Hugo Lloris.
“But that is football – we need to learn from it and forget it”.
“I thought it could have gone the other way for them during the early stages of the game but it didn’t and the goal from Monaco was definitely against the run of play”.
