Hulu lands on the Apple Watch with awesome new features

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) seems to be keen on pushing its Apple Watch flagship to more countries as now the Cupertino tech giant has stealthily made the announcement of shipping its first smart watch to New Zealand on July 31, through an updated product page within Apple Store iOS application. The app, instead, functions as a basic remote, letting you pause, turn captions on / off, and jump back 10 seconds (although in practice, that button is a bit finicky). (And since the app remembers preferences if you selected an aisle seat for this flight chances are that it will offer a similar selection on a future flight — it just gets you.) Of course theres integration with Apple Watch as well, so frequent flyer status, check-in reminders, and flight information can always be right on your wrist.

When the time comes to check in for the flight all an Apple Watch user needs to do is to tap once on the screen.

Right off the bat you can see what’s playing with a quick glance.

It does, however, allow you to control Apple Watch, as it’s a remote for Hulu on the various devices Hulu comes on, like Apple TV, PlayStation 3 and 4, Chromecast and Xbox ONE. That being said, the launch is indicative of the level of experimentation we’re seeing from today’s companies, who are now attempting to figure out how to make an Apple Watch app a part of their more comprehensive mobile offerings for consumers. The New Zealand launch date for Apple Watch is said to follow right after the watch is rolled out for the above mentioned regions, however, there is no information available on whether the watch will be rolled out to other countries along with the New Zealand launch, but for sure the company will announce more information regarding the countries getting Apple Watch as the month’s end draws closer. That means you can start watching an episode of your favorite show on your iPhone before switching over to the biggest screen in your house and leaving the phone behind. So, I guess there’s that.
