Hundreds attend vigils for 2 Texans Killed in Nice attack

A man lost six members of his family in the horrific lorry massacre in Nice, French media reported. They were among a flock of people gathered on the seafront for Bastille Day fireworks when an unidentified driver plowed into them with a truck hauling grenades and other weapons, according to Alyssa Weaver, the elder Copeland’s niece.

The Copeland family, from a town near Austin, Texas, was taking in some of Europe’s classic sights on vacation – starting with the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.

The family lives near Lakeway. They were together, in a group of people, when Sean and Brodie were killed, KEYETV said.

At least 10 children were killed in what French officials are calling a terror attack, and dozens of people remain hospitalized.

Copeland’s wife, Kim, posted a photo of her husband and son on Facebook.

Kim Copeland, along with 29-year-old Maegan and 22-year-old Austin, survived, Davis told The Post. Sean, 51, worked for Lexmark Corporation as a vice president and his son Brodie, 11, liked to play youth baseball.

French police secure the area as the investigation continues at the scene near the heavy truck that ran into a crowd at high speed killing scores who were celebrating the Bastille Day July 14 national holiday on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France.

Aaron Cable, head of player development for the Hill Country Baseball Club, told the Austin American-Statesman newspaper that Brodie was a mature, funny, “one-of-kind kid” who aspired to be an actor or comedian. “Rest in peace, Brodie and Sean; you will be remembered by many”. “They are so loved”.

The Moscow Times reports Savchenko was in the city with a friend, fellow student Polina Serebryannikova, who managed to escape with her life – and some injuries. However, the family vacation would take a awful turn after the family arrived at the Nice waterfront for the fireworks show and entertainment.

“Our hearts go out to all of those in France and elsewhere who have loved ones lost or injured in this event, and we pray for each of you”, the family said.

Two of Sean’s brothers are set to fly with the State Department to pick up the family and bring everyone home, according to Troy Copeland, Sean’s brother. Friends say that the Copeland family was on a dream family vacation for mother Kim Copeland’s birthday.

Brodie Copeland was a fifth-grader at Lakeway Elementary and an avid baseball fan. The baseball club has created a gofundme page for the Copeland family. “And we renew our resolve to obtain all relevant facts to determine the most effective ways to firmly combat this evil”. “Any U.S. citizens in Nice should contact friends and family directly to inform‎ them of their well being”.

“I know both Sean and Brodie knew and loved Jesus and that is comforting but it still hurts to the core”.
