Las Vegas police arrested a suspect late Monday night in connection with a shooting earlier in the day at McCarran International Airport.

The shooting happened shortly before 6 p.m. Monday in a long-term parking area on the top floor of the airport parking structure at busy Terminal 1, which serves domestic airlines including Southwest, Delta, Allegiant and American.
The man was arrested at the VA Medical Center just before midnight, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Police did not confirm whether they were locals or visiting Las Vegas, and airport officials did not say where the pair had arrived from.
Both of the shooting victims were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. Their names have not been made public.
It was unclear why Brown went to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in North Vegas after the shooting, Hadfield said. He faces two counts each of attempted murder and discharging a firearm in a prohibited area; and one count of assault with a deadly weapon.
“The victims were coming from a flight and encountered a suspect on the sixth floor of the parking garage, and that is where the shooting occurred”, said Officer Larry Hadfield, a department spokesman.
A spokesperson with McCarran said the patients were conscious when they were taken to the hospital, but there’s no word on their condition.

Airport Director Rosemary Vassiliadis (vas-ill-ee-AH’-dehs) said airport operations and flights were not affected.
