Jules Reich, 61, was arraigned overnight on suspicion of killing his wife, Robin Goldman, 58.

The police received a 911 call from the home that the couple shared in the Heathcoate neighborhood on Wednesday night, reporting that a woman had been seriously injured, according to a Scarsdale Police Department press release.

“This is not a random act”.

The Journal News reports that Reich had petitioned for divorce in August 2015, but the matter remains pending.

Reich has owned the home since 1997, according to public property records.

The pair were active in the Young Israel of Scarsdale congregation in New Rochelle, a modern Orthodox congregation, and also involved with the Westchester Jewish Council.

Goldman was a pediatrician with the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, while Reich works in finance in New York City.

Reich is a tax specialist for WeiserMazars and previously worked at the global firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The last slaying in Scarsdale was in 1977.

“We were shocked and deeply saddened to learn about the sudden death of our colleague”, the hospital said in a statement. He was convicted of manslaughter in the case.
