Husker punter Foltz killed in vehicle crash
“Of course, like I also said to them, some are teammates of Sam’s, some are teammates and friends that have grown up with him”.

“I have a picture of Mike, his laugh, his smile, just everything and his spirit”, Puyol said. “I always say to try and be a light, and he truly was a light in this world”, as reported by the Detroit Free Press. That is not the goal of this. It is just to be together.
While we’ll never be able to answer the question of why someone with so much more ahead of them has been taken from this world.
The crash happened in Wisconsin, where the trio had been student instructors at a Kohl’s Kicking Camp, the Lincoln Journal Star reports. Foltz, 22, a senior at Nebraska, and 24-year-old Sadler, a former punter at Michigan State, were both serving as staff members at the Kohl’s National Invitational Scholarship Camp for high school kickers and punters at Kettle Moraine High School in Wales, the newspaper noted.
Delahoussaye was LSU’s starting kicker in the 2013 and ’14 seasons before losing his job to junior walk-on Trent Domingue of Mandeville last season.
“Drew was my first contact today”, Riley said. “I’m very fortunate I got to spend the time with them that I did”.
Brown was on his way back to Lincoln, Riley said. “Sam was universally loved and respected by everyone he touched and on whom he had a positive influence each and every day”. “He’s proud. He was really proud of it. He was really proud of being a Nebraska football player”. Puyol said. “I know my platform is so much bigger because I play football so if I want to help people out and be somebody who shares more than football but who shares life with people, I think that is probably the most important thing to do”.
For “Superhero Week”, my son invited two Husker football players to join him in class. One was Sam Foltz.
Foltz was a three-year starter for the Nebraska team and last year he was named the Big Ten’s punter of the year.
A source tells NBC Nebraska a funeral for Sam Foltz will be held Saturday July 30, 2016 at 10:30AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island, NE. “We’re not going to see him again until we get to go to heaven like him”.
Foltz picked up his degree in agronomy from UNL in May.
After Foltz’s passing, Nebraska will not participate in Big Ten Media Days this week in Chicago.
Foltz, who was preparing for his senior season, had stayed with the Meyer family several times while working camps.

Sam was a kind and thoughtful young man who was a leader on the playing field, in the classroom, and in his community, Nebraska Chancellor Ronnie D. Green said in a statement.
