It’s the first time since the 2007 Cotton Bowl that the Huskers have played in a bowl not named the Holiday, Gator or Capital One. The Cornhuskers have been bowl eligible ’cause there weren’t sufficient 6-6 teams to fill out the bowl schedule.

The Bruins (8-4) have been officially picked to play in the Foster Farms Bowl at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, with a 6:15 p.m. kickoff on December 26 set against Nebraska (5-7).
In its previous two appearances, UCLA lost to IL in 2011 when it was known as the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl and to Florida State in 2006 when it was the Emerald Bowl. It was the second-highest rating for a bowl game on ESPN at the time. The stadium is home to the San Francisco 49ers and will host Super Bowl 50 in February. “Jim Mora has done a tremendous job in Westwood and he’s bringing the top freshman quarterback in the country with him, Josh Rosen”. The Pac-12 earned its third-straight Foster Farms Bowl victory in the game, with the Cardinal running away, 45-21. The Foster Farms Bowl will be the 13 all-time meeting between the universities and the first in the postseason.
That means coach Mike Riley and his squad will be “Christmasing” in California. Their most recent contest was in 2013.

UCLA will come into the Foster Farms Bowl with an 8-4 record, including 5-4 in the Pac-12, and the Bruins are receiving votes in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls. He was the fourth-leading rusher in the Pac-12.

The Foster Farms Bowl wanted a local team if it could get it. UCLA accomplishes that.
