Hyundai Motor India launches new Elantra at Rs 12.99 lakh

The Hyundai Elantra is available at an introductory price of Rs. 12.99 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi) for the petrol and Rs. 14.79 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi) for the diesel variants.

It sure took a while but Hyundai has finally launched its first auto this year in the form of the sixth generation Elantra.

Elantra sports LED taillights and is equipped with the new alloy wheel design.

The model comes with various features like high intensity discharge headlamps, projector fog lamps, glass antenna, voice recognition, among others.

At the rear, the Elantra features swept back tail lamps, that seem to be split into three different segments by the graphics. The vehicle rides on 10-spoke, 16-inch alloy wheels. It will also feature two driving modes – Eco and Sport.

The 2016 Hyundai Elantra will compete in the D-segment wherein it will rival cars like the Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla Altis and the Chevrolet Cruze.

The top-end variant gets multiple airbags and dual-zone climate control. The 1.6 L, CRDi, diesel develops 126 hp of maximum power.

The new Elantra gets a complete makeover as it comes with Hyundai’s new Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. Both engines come with an option of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The petrol engine delivers a fuel efficiency of 14.6 km/l, while the diesel motor offers a fuel economy of 22.5 km/l. Hyundai is also offering special customer care programme with 3 years or unlimited kilometre warranty, 3 years or 30,000 km free maintenance, 3 years roadside assistance, 3 times map care update and 3 home visits – 15th day, 6th months and 1.5 years. Hyundai has already started taking deliveries of 2016 Hyundai Elantra at a token amount of INR 25,000. With the new platform, the sixth-gen Hyundai Elantra is also wider and longer than the outgoing model.
