I can get even better – Murray
The world ranked number 2 defeated world ranked number 6 Canadian player Milos Raonic in the final and it wasn’t an easy match: 6-4 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (7-2) and Murray was pushed all the way by his opponent.

Instead of charging up the stands to hug his nearest and dearest – as he had done in 2013 when he ended Britain’s 77-year wait for a men’s champion – Murray slumped in his chair and sobbed into a towel just relieved to have ended a 36-month search for a third grand slam title.
“I think the last three months, since Monte-Carlo, have been some of the best I’ve played in terms of consistency”.
Andy Murray’s Wimbledon title has allowed him to make a dent in the still-substantial gap in the ATP rankings between him and No. 1 Novak Djokovic, last year’s champion at the All England Club.
With Djokovic’s phenomenal winning streak coming to an end as wells as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal being well off their peak performance, some believe this victory might herald a reshuffle within the so called “Big Four” tennis stars in which Murray can claim a bigger piece of the tennis pie. “It’s better to try to finish No1 in the world and finish at No2”, he said on Monday.
And he is the first British man to win multiple Wimbledon titles since Fred Perry in 1934-1936.
Murray used all his experience and skills for making life hard to Raonic in the green court which eventually made him the champion.
I spoke to (GB captain) Leon (Smith) last night at the ball briefly.
After the tension of his first Wimbledon final victory against Novak Djokovic in 2013, this was a much more serene affair as Murray cruised to the title with an nearly flawless display. I’ve won some matches against them but I’ve also lost quite a few too. “Both Carlos and John (two of his coaches) took me aside and said: “‘This can change your career at this point.’ So hopefully it continues that way”.
“Novak is still clearly No1 in the world right now, he is not just going to go away because he has had one bad tournament”, he said. “I feel more motivated than ever just now”.
“I don’t mind failing”, he said.
Andy Murray has said being a dad has helped him become a better tennis player.
“But obviously having children changes your perspective on life, changes your perspective on things, so I feel like I’m appreciating things a bit more now”.
“But, if I want to add to three slams, I’m going to have to find ways to win against them”.

Raonic slammed down a serve at 147mph on Sunday, the fastest in this year’s tournament, but his most destructive weapon never intimidated Murray.
