I could “shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters”
US Republican front-runner Donald Trump expressed confidence on Saturday that he could push back attempts by his rivals to knock him off his top perch, saying he could stand in New York’s Fifth Avenue “and shoot people and I wouldn’t lose voters”. The polls tell us that, but also their organization and just kind of their footprint in the state tells us that – so two events today for Donald Trump, both in Christian conservative strongholds, the kind of places that Ted Cruz goes for votes. They say I have the most loyal people. Beck was one of almost two dozen conservative thinkers who penned anti-Trump essays for National Review magazine – a hit Trump referred to repeatedly at the rally.

Radio host Glenn Beck spoke at a Ted Cruz rally Saturday in Iowa where he announced his support for the Texas senator.
At the beginning of Beck’s remarks he said he wasn’t making an endorsement, but rather talking about the principles that are important to making an endorsement.
“Trump is a philosophically unmoored political opportunist who would trash the broad conservative ideological consensus within the GOP in favor of a free-floating populism with strong-man overtones”, it said in a biting lead editorial. “He could run for the Prime Minister of Canada and I wouldn’t even complain because he was born in Canada”, Trump joked. “Well, I’m going to relieve him of that and get the nomination, so he doesn’t have to”. I have standing to sue. I mean, it has been that it’s true that you attract some people with that, but you repel other people with that. “I just don’t feel that’s where a majority of the nation is”.
Asked to respond to Trump’s comments, Cruz said he would let Trump speak for himself.
“He probably could’ve worded it a little bit better”, Fokkemma said.
“If that is the mood of the country, we are in more trouble than I thought”.
Another Republican candidate, Florida Sen.
The other ad features Trump, who now attacks Cruz on a daily basis, praising the senator at a fundraiser in 2014 in Florida.
The latest Reuters-Ipsos tracking poll has Donald Trump pulling in 40.6% support of Republican voters nationally. Third is Marco Rubio. Ted Cruz Sunday, as a new poll showed the bombastic billionaire having regained his lead in the critical early-voting state of Iowa.
