US Republican front-runner Donald Trump expressed confidence on Saturday that he could push back attempts by his rivals to knock him off his top perch, saying he could stand in New York’s Fifth Avenue “and shoot people and I wouldn’t lose voters”. Radio host Glenn Beck spoke at a Ted Cruz rally Saturday in Iowa where he announced his support for the Texas senator.

Asked to respond to Trump’s comments, Cruz said he would let Trump speak for himself.
“He probably could’ve worded it a little bit better”, Fokkemma said.
“If that is the mood of the country, we are in more trouble than I thought”.
