I did not hand in transfer request – Rooney
Rooney’s form this season has been nothing to write home about either, but he did manage to end his Premier League goalscoring drought last week when United beat Sunderland 3-0 at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo has subtly hinted he may return to Manchester United one day, claiming that it is not impossible that he and Wayne Rooney could be teammates again in the future.
Despite their differences Rooney admits that Ferguson is “the best manager of all time”.
Paris ST German striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, said he wished he had the opportunity to pay alongside Wayne Rooney in Manchester United.
“I’d prefer to have him in my team than play against him. I used to write a lot of poems”.
“I don’t know why, I used to like writing little stories when I first got with Coleen”.
He also concedes that he was wrong to play for England at the 2006 Federation Internationale de Football Association World Cup™, having fractured a metatarsal bone in his right foot six weeks before the tournament. “They would have thrown me into the sea”.
The documentary is being made to celebrate Rooney breaking Sir Bobby Charlton’s 50 goal record this month, making him England’s most prolific ever goal scorer. The time in between that [under Steve McClaren and Capello] I have not enjoyed it as much as I should have.
“I went in to see [Sir Alex Ferguson] and I said, “If you’re not going to play me it might be better if I move on”. Lineker asks if it was, therefore, disappointing the way it worked out under the Italian.
England and Portugal were playing out their quarter final when Rooney appeared to stamp on Ricardo Carvalho prompting Ronaldo to approach the referee begging for action to be taken against his United teammate.
