‘I’m so drunk!’ Florida driver live-streams DUI via Periscope

In the video, Beall said she thought she’d blown a tire and she was driving very slowly. “All the way home people, I’m going to be drunk”. Let’s see if I get a DUI.

Viewers of the video called the Lakeland Police Department to report the incident, with Bell continuously admitting to being inebriated to her audience.

“Her actions have really stamped her for the foreseeable future because it went viral, so many people saw it, so many people shared it and while you can hire firms that will sort of push that news down, because of the popularity which is the unsafe part about this story, she’s going to have a hard time”, said Lisa Brock of Brock Communications who often works with people to rehab their image.

Beall was taken to the Polk County Jail where she was charged with DUI.

‘I’m so drunk, ‘ she repeatedly told her followers, while staring at her smartphone’s camera that was mounted on the dashboard.

Lakeland police said 23 year old Whitney Beall had a fun night drinking on the town then made a decision to broadcast her drunken drive home live on the smart phone app, Periscope.

Many viewers of the stream encouraged her to get off the road. An officer also stated, “Numerous text message were sent to the driver asking her to stop driving before she killed someone or herself”.

One Lakeland officer found the webfeed and tracked her down, police say. She was alone in the vehicle and had struck a curb, which caused an abrupt stop. I think law enforcement agencies will use this to track and monitor potential criminal activities – specifically those that are posted publicly.
