All week, T.I. has been blasted in the news over sexist comments he made about Hillary Clinton, telling the world that he wouldn’t vote for the presidential candidate because she’s a woman.
Before the lengthy video apology to address his offensive logic, the Da’ Nic EP creator released a statement through Twitter. “My comments about women running for president were unequivocally insensitive and wrong”, he tweeted. “I sincerely apologize to everyone I offended”. I said a few things that were insensitive and hurtful to women. “You know you can not be in the world without believing in something, even if you don’t call it a deity”. I know you know me, but I apologize anyway. “Now what that says to me, Lord has a wide range”. Oprah explained, “Now what that says to me is “Lord” has a wide range”, She further shared, “What is “Lord”?”
She continued on by saying, “Faith is very different, I think”.
It seems the message was well-received. Why don’t I do that?’ Because that will fuel my heart’s desire… my passion. and also create a few momentum.
The series, co-produced by Harpo Studios and part2 pictures, also includes those who don’t embrace a particular faith, from an atheist climber who finds meaning as he mounts a desert cliff in Utah without harnesses or ropes, to a father and daughter who take part in Nevada’s Burning Man festival. “It’s going to take you five years and it’s going to be harder than anything you’ve ever done”. “My favorite rapper!” commented one Grand Hustle fan.
Gandhi’s Be Magazine Editor-in-Chief Missy Crutchfield said, “It is an honor to have been invited by OWN’s BELIEF Team and our partner Sister Jenna with America Meditating Radio in Washington, D.C.to help build awareness and dialogue surrounding the premiere of Oprah’s BELIEF Series”.
