I’ve got the T-Rex! New tokens take places on Monopoly board
The eight current Monopoly tokens are surrounded by tokens being voted on for inclusion to the board game.

They will be replaced by a T-Rex, rubber ducky and penguin, which will join the five classic tokens: Scottie the dog, hat, car, cat and battleship. The boot got the boot (60,000 votes); the wheelbarrow will be rolled into storage (81,000 votes) and it’s sew long to the thimble (83,000 votes). Hasbro will release the new edition of Monopoly this fall. In the end, they ousted the boot, the thimble, and the wheelbarrow to make room for the newcomers.
Monopoly is played by more than 1 billion players in 114 countries across the globe and the tokens have been a key element of the game since it was launched in 1935.
There’s a tremendous shakeup to the Monopoly board.
On the eve of World Monopoly Day, Hasbro has unveiled three new Monopoly pieces (officially known as tokens) that will be added to the iconic game.
Had it garnered just 5,700 more votes, players would also have their choice of a tortoise token in the near future.
The new Monopoly tokens are a T-rex, penguin and rubber ducky.
The other original objects in the game were an iron, purse, lantern, race vehicle, top hat, battleship, cannon and a rocking horse.
The options that fans had when voting was still open were definitely varied, as it included electronic devices, animals, and perhaps worst of all, emoji. The last new token was a cat in 2013, so maybe Team Bird felt they needed to keep up. The T-rex followed closely behind but the most popular token from the originals, was the auto, with over 167,000 votes.

Hasbro believes that part of the game’s loss in popularity has to do with some outdated elements, despite the game’s overall enjoyment.
