The worldwide Association of Athletics Federations has voted nearly unanimously on Friday to suspend Russia’s qualification.

Mr Bach also said he was confident Russian athletes would take part in the Rio Olympics.
The IOC has previously allowed independents to compete at Olympic Games in certain cases, such as when an athlete’s home country is in transition or subject to sanctions.
Bach said on Saturday that he was sure clean Russian athletes would compete at the 2016 Games.
“First of all, we’ll defend the athletes” interests as the term “commission’ implies a sort of a link between active athletes and the IAAF heads”, Isinbayeva said. The first competition to be affected by the ban will be the European cross-country championships in France in December.
Ungerleider, who also served on the WADA education and ethics committee, spoke with Around the Rings in an edition of ATRadio and said the scandal is detrimental to the Olympic family.
In his Sunday Telegraph column, the president of the worldwide Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) said he and his colleagues could “almost certainly” have done more to get to the heart of the scandal that has rocked the sport. “The IAAF is writing to ARAF today to convene disciplinary proceedings against the athlete”.
Reedie predicted that could take as long as six months, provided that Russian Federation fulfilled a list of criteria expected to be laid down by the IAAF and Wada. Mutko is due to host a meeting of the federation’s ruling council Sunday at his ministry building in Moscow.
Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko, a FIFA executive committee member and head of the committee organizing the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia said that “attempts to slam Russia are a popular trend and a way to demonstrate one’s toughness”.
“Extraordinary elections will be held and the personnel in the managing bodies and coaching staff will be significantly renewed and control of the national teams will be increased” the ministry said on its website.
Coe was elected president of the IAAF in August after spending eight years as deputy to Lamine Diack, who is being investigated by French police on suspicion of having taken more than 1million euros in payments to cover up positive drugs tests.

Experts say it is highly probable that the Russian national athletics team won’t be able to perform at the Summer Olympics in Brazil in August 2016.
