Ian McShane Feels ‘Game Of Thrones’ All About Nudity, Dragons
However, the actor has been defending himself in an interview with The Telegraph; “You say the slightest thing and the internet goes ape“.

McShane’s time on the show will be short-lived, though, as he also told The Telegraph that he dies at the end of his single episode.
Believe it or not, the fate of McShane’s character wasn’t even the initial spoiler-that was his promise to “bring back a much-loved character who everybody thinks is dead”, a reveal our own Joanna Robinson has already expertly explained. “It’s only t*ts and dragons”. In fact, the Pirates of the Caribbean star went on to reveal that he only agreed to be on the hit fantasy series because he would get the chance to work alongside Charlie Dance (Tywin Lannister) and Stephen Dillane (Stannis Baratheon).
McShane is expected to play the role of a priest in Season 6.
So there we have it, his character comes in, resurrects a character, then leaves all in one episode.
Speaking on Radio 5 Live, McShane all but confirmed he’s playing a version of Elder Brother who is suspected to have nursed Sandor “The Hound” Clegane back to health.
When asked to give a little teaser about his role on the incredibly secretive show, he said, “My character really is like an ex-warrior who’s become a peacenik, so I have this group, like peaceful, sort of like a peaceful cult tribe…” Now if only there was just as much male nudity in Game of Thrones…one can only hope HBO increases the male butt to female breast ratio in the upcoming season.
Following his spoiler-filled interview, diehard fans took to social media to scold McShane for giving away crucial plot points – and the actor wasn’t bothered at all by the backlash.
