Pottermore is J.K. Rowling’s digital entertainment, news and e-commerce company, inspired by the Harry Potter books and the wider Wizarding World.

As for me, I’ll sit tight and see if J.K. Rowling finally comes to her senses and releases them later in the Kindle store and especially audiobook versions on Audible. Previously, the digital versions of the books were only available on author J.K. Rowling’s fan site, Pottermore. This font – named Fluffy, for a three-headed dog in the first book – is used for the opening letter of each chapter.

The move should also attract attention to the author as she prepares to release the Deluxe Edition of Harry Potter Illustrated next month – today we also have a digital equivalent.

With today’s new editions, the books are available as a direct purchase in the iBooks Store in English.

Rowling is now working on a Harry Potter series of prequels entitled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, for Warner Bros.

Despite the added features, the books still offer a competitive price at $9.99 each.

It probably would have been better for Apple to spend a few of its own talent working on these books rather than leave it up to the publisher, but that is the nature of eBooks these days.

Now, fans can relive the series through the exclusive new content on their iPad, iPhone or other Apple device.

The series may have ended back in 2007 and the last movie was out in theatres in 2011, but the world of Harry Potter is still as popular as ever.
