Wales and England open their Euro 2016 campaigns against Slovakia and Russian Federation respectively on Saturday, before facing off in Lens on Thursday June 16.

Wales suffered their heaviest defeat since September 2013 when Sweden beat them 3-0 at Stockholm’s Friends Arena on Sunday.

“He’s the most expensive player in the world, who can win you games, and he’s virtually got Wales to the Euros”, Rush said.

But should Vardy leave it might increase speculation that other Leicester players, among them Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante, could see their own futures elsewhere.

“All three came through a session yesterday, they are fully integrated with the squad and it is positive news”, Coleman said. Despite lacking game time, Coleman says the trio are physically “very very good” and if the situation stays the same, all three will be available for the Slovakia game. It is 25 players in a squad and, if one or two decide they want to go and play their football elsewhere, we wish them all the best.

Strikes from Emil Forsberg in the 40th minute, Mikael Lustig in the 57th and substitute John Guidetti three minutes from time sealed the triumph for the hosts, who open their European Championship campaign against the Republic of Ireland on June 13.

Gareth Bale and his team-mates have already created football history by becoming the first Wales team in nearly six decades to qualify for a major finals.

Both sides took one win in these matches; Russian Federation won their home match 2-1, while England won the home fixture 3-0.

“We corrected some things after the Slovenia game, so, in general, the feeling is good, but we must raise ourselves considerably before the group games start, both offensively and defensively”, Hamren said. He agreed to guide them through this tournament but there will be a clamour for him to take the job full time if the team are a success.

Russian Federation started slowly during the qualifying stages, but four wins in row helped Leonid Slutsky’s team to secure second place in the group behind Austria. “It doesn’t mean we can’t produce something special (at Euro 2016), because we’re capable of it”.

“We know why we’re here, but what’s coming is something we’ve never experienced”.

He said: “The main aim was to get minutes and not pick up any problems, though we’re obviously disappointed with the result”.

“It’s a huge test for us next week, but it’s one we should have absolutely no fear about”. All the houses are up for it and we don’t have anybody who says no.

“You need players of Gareth’s ability if you are going to go that step further”, Coleman told AFP.
