Ibrahimovic left out of Manchester United squad for China tour
The 35-year-old’s absence won’t slow the clamor to see United’s friendlies against Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai on Friday and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in Beijing on Monday.

According to our resident Manchester United fan Ian Watson, Rojo is one of five players who wouldn’t be missed if they left Old Trafford.
Although he approved the contract extensions for Borthwick-Jackson and Rashford, he also signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan – all of whom are forwards.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has opted for a mixture of youth and experience in his 25-man squad for the preseason China tour, with the travelling party being announced on Tuesday morning ahead of flying out in the afternoon.
However, while a number of those players, including England internationals Chris Smalling, Wayne Rooney and Marcus Rashford, will travel with the squad, Mourinho has indicated they will not play in the two fixtures.
However, none of James Wilson, Tyler Blackett or Guillermo Varela have been selected in the squad, with the trio all apparently close to leaving the club, whilst Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has a groin strain.
Eric Bailly made his debut for Manchester United in their friendly against Wigan Athletic and looks set to be a defensive mainstay under Jose Mourinho.
“You have to get to know your team-mates and their qualities, so I am trying to learn everything very quickly”. “Basically in China I will play with these guys that are training for 10 days and the Rooneys and Rashfords and Smallings, these guys are coming to China without training so I am not going to play them”, he explained.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Morgan Schneiderlin and Anthony Martial are among those given extra recovery time following their exertions at the European Championship this summer.

“If it is like this in a friendly match, like I said in my presentation, I will try to give them everything and I’m sure they will continue to give fantastic support to the team”.
