Ibrahimovic ‘wanted to end his career at Napoli’
However, a man that is close to the striker – super agent Mino Raiola – has now revealed that Ibrahimovic has previously spoken about finishing his career in Italy, specifically with Serie A side Napoli. The presidents who talk to me, they know that what is said remains between us.

Along with the world’s most expensive player Paul Pogba, Dortmund creator-in-chief Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Villarreal’s defensive stalwart Eric Bailly, Swedish attacker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was signed on a free transfer.
“In football the result should always be a surprise, otherwise Leicester never would have won the [Premier] League”, Raiola said in an interview with Radio CRC.
The former Sweden worldwide was out-of-contract after he made a decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season, and he was therein linked with a switch to the Premier League with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal all interested in his services.
“The Champions League is a bit bigger than a normal league, but the boredom of knowing more or less who will win is real”.
‘All I can say is at Ciro Ferrara’s farewell game at the San Paolo, Zlatan called me and told me: “Mino, I want to end my career in Naples”.
Reports over the weekend suggested that Manchester United are already trying to tie down striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to a longer-than-expected stay at Old Trafford.
“Mario Balotelli? He didn’t want to play in Italy again, it would have been an excuse for him”.

“What I can say is that no Italian club could afford Zlatan even though surely Zlatan has a Neapolitan mentality”.
