Ice Cube Fully Reunites NWA, Brings Out Kendrick Lamar at Coachella 2016

Ice Cube had been promising an N.W.A. reunion, but the original members of the legendary hip-hop group, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, MC Ren and DJ Yella, didn’t actually get it together onstage until weekend 2 of Coachella 2016.

HollywoodLifers, are you surprised Dre joined Ice on stage?

Sporting a simple black T-shirt and slacks, Dr. Dre led his former group in rapping his self-referential 2001 solo track “Still Dre”, according to video footage.

Ice Cube performs on the Coachella stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Saturday, April 16, 2016. He also performed alongside Eazy-E’s son Lil E. Cube successfully reunited N.W.A.in a way that had festival-goers losing their minds.

Ice Cube’s first guest appearance came from Southland native The Game, who performed his career-making 2003 hit and debut single, “Westside Story”. The Compton, California rapper inducted N.W.A into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this month.

Instead, Dr. Dre marked the movie by releasing an album entitled “Compton” which the 51-year-old said would be his last.

There are some unique benefits to catching the second weekend of Coachella. But the biggest surprise of the night came towards the end of the show when Kendrick Lamar, a self-confessed N.W.A. fanatic, joined Ice on stage to perform “Alright”.
