Ice Cube & Son To Star In LA Riots Thriller
After cleaning up at the box office with Straight Outta Compton, Ice Cube and O’Shea Jackson Jr. are preparing to possibly star in an action thriller together.

Cube is being considered for the role of an ex-criminal who is tasked with saving his son after a band of thugs invade his place of work.
We hear the two had been approached for the L.A. Riots project months ago but talks never progressed as the two sides were far apart on money and script. There has been no movement since.
The L.A. Riots movie, written by Sascha Penn, is produced by Compton executive producer Packer and Donovan Marsh directing.
Straight Outta Compton is a bonafide hit having earned over $75 million at the box office in less than a week.
His acting generated strong reviews and convinced the studio a father-son team-up was feasible.
They are both busy at the moment and any news or speculation on the matter is false.
Ice Cube’s publicist released a statement saying Cube and Jackson are not confirmed for the project: “Ice Cube and O’Shea Jackson Jr. have no plans to commit to this project at this time”. Case in point: the project has Liongate’s casting director Deborah Aquila on the case, according to agency sources.

The studio hopes for a February start date, but the report cautions that these are early talks yet and the deal may fall through.
