The station reported that despite the icy conditions, roads remained open. There is a lake effect snow warning for Southern Erie, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties from 7pm Sunday through 7pm Monday.

The freakish event came as the area was hit with several inches of snow in the past 24 hours – forcing the closure of several schools.
