Kyle Andrew Odom, 30, was taken into custody without incident Tuesday night in Washington.

Police say he threw computer flash drives and other unidentified items over the fence.

Kyle Odom, the lone suspect in Sunday’s shooting of Altar Church Rev. Tim Remington, took credit for Remington’s shooting in the rambling document, which was made public online.

Coeur d’Alene Police Chief Lee White told the AP that Odom has a history of mental illness. The shooting immediately drew national attention because the pastor had delivered the opening prayer at a Ted Cruz campaign event just 24 hours prior. Odom is wanted in the shooting of Idaho pastor Tim Remington.

Police say Odom planned the attack, but they don’t yet have a motive.

Meanwhile, Pastor Tim Remington, shot six times Sunday outside his church in Coeur d’Alene, has regained consciousness and is talking with his family.

Remington regained consciousness on Monday evening as a candlelight and prayer vigil for his recovery was under way, Padula said.

CDA police officials said in a release they will hold a press conference at 9 p.m.to discuss the most current information regarding the case.

“What he wrote definitely played a part in raising our awareness and concern”, White said of the manifesto.

White said that another church member named in the manifesto was safe.

The letters, postmarked Monday, contained references to President Obama, members of Congress, members of the Israeli government, and John Padula, outreach pastor for The Altar Church, where Remington is the senior pastor. The manifesto said that his life started to deteriorate during his final semester and was now ruined.

“I usually have my kids around me, and that was the thing that concerned me, was my wife and my kids”, Padula said Tuesday night. “I have no time, I have to go”.

Everybody is absolutely relieved because we did not want to see him end up doing any self-harm.

“We’ve been waiting for somebody who represented God for a long time”, Remington said at the rally.

The youth pastor at Altar Church told KREM that doctors have said Remington was very lucky to survive the attack.

Odom had no connection with the church before showing up before services early Sunday morning, Padula said.

Police say the former Marine from Coeur d’Alene could be in one of several western states by now. The AP reported that after the shooting, Odom fled the scene by vehicle to Spokane, Washington before police lost his trail.
