Idaho State University sees 2.1 percent drop in enrollment

The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville says it will offer reduced out-of-state tuition to qualifying first-year students beginning next year.

The School of Law met its targeted goal for the year with total enrollment of 371 students and an incoming class of 117. There are now 1,141 non-Idaho resident students, an increase of 52 students. Global students make up 5.4 percent of the student population.

“We also made a commitment to recruit global students, so we’ve participated for the first time in some online college fairs that are specifically targeted toward worldwide students”, Cassard said. Also, biology gained 41 students this fall.

They also knew that some of their programs were at capacity for those student populations.

11th day enrollment numbers released Wednesday represents a 1.6 percent increase over the fall 2015 enrollment of 26,754.

Last week, LSU’s enrollment count came in at less than 2 percent down from past year.

Wayne State’s graduation rates – a key metric for all universites – has also improved.

· Another bright spot was the success of ISU’s Bengal Bridge, a program created to give prospective students tools for college. “On both fronts – attracting students and keeping them on track to graduation–we are creating a powerful experience of incredible value”. The six-year graduation rate is 38 percent, up 12 percentage points over the past five years. The number of new freshmen declaring as majors in Fulbright College departments increased by 6 percent from 2015.

“Our growth in enrollment suggests that increasingly high school graduates in Louisiana, students from 29 other states and worldwide students from 28 different countries are selecting GSU for the academic programs and student life we have to offer”, added Damon Wade, vice president for institutional effectiveness and enrollment management.

“There’s so much good news”, Weaver said. Graduate student contributions are fundamental to the university’s distinction of being rated with the highest classification for research activity by the Carnegie Foundation.
