Idea Cellular Q1 net may slip 23% at Rs 440 crore
Idea Cellular said its telecom network now spreads to almost 2,00,000 sites – 127,835 2G sites, 51,231 3G sites and 19,939 4G sites – and 120,700 kms of fiber and covers almost 1 billion Indians for GSM services over 3,94,000 towns and villages.

Mobile data volume grew 13.2 percent to 93.1 billion MB in Q1 FY 2017.
Idea Cellular has 127,835 2G sites, 51,231 3G sites and 19,939 4G sites. Mobile Broadband’s average revenue per user (ARPU) dropped significantly to Rs 171 from Rs 191 in the preceding quarter.
20 million of Idea Cellular customers have 3G / 4G device. Note this also includes customers who own 4G phones.
Idea’s total data subscriber base stood at 49.05 million subscribers increasing 11.42% from 44.02 million in the preceding quarter.
The demand for mobile data services is set to grow at a fast clip in the south Asian nation that is home to more than a billion mobile phone users, as rising incomes, a relatively younger population and an explosion in smartphone sales spur more data usage. The company posted net profit of Rs 497.1 crore for the April-June quarter compared to Rs 777.8 crore posted during the corresponding quarter in 2015-16.
Idea Cellular’s wireless broadband services reach to 400 million Indians across 17 circles covering over 63,000 towns and villages. The company’s revenue has increased by 7.91 per cent to Rs 9487 crore in Q1FY17 as compared to same period in previous fiscal year.
During the period, EBITDA is seen at Rs. 3,613 crore (37 percent) versus Rs. 3,616 crore (38.1 percent) on sequential basis.

– Data as a percentage revenue stood at 20.6% at the end of Q1, up marginally from 20.1% from the preceding quarter.
