IDF Soldier Stabbed Near Jerusalem Central Bus Station
Israeli border police shot dead a Palestinian woman who tried to ram them with her vehicle in the West Bank on Friday, the police said, as a 12-week surge in street violence showed no sign of abating.

Israeli police says officers have shot dead a Palestinian who tried to stab them in Jerusalem.
The Palestinian, 26, from east Jerusalem, pulled out a knife from his pocket and attempted to stab one of them.
Since the start of October, Israeli forces or armed civilians have killed at least 128 Palestinians, 79 of whom authorities described as assailants.
The attacks on Sunday are the latest in a series of deadly stabbing incidents attributed to the Palestinian-Israeli tensions since mid-September. Another Israeli soldier was accidentally shot and lightly wounded. The man aroused the suspicion on police while walking through the Muristan in the Christian Quarter.
The attack took place in west Jerusalem near the city’s central bus station, where large numbers of soldiers catch buses each Sunday morning back to their bases after a sabbath break at home.
An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed that an attack had occurred in the area and local witnesses told Ma’an that two Palestinians were shot and killed by Israeli forces following the attack.
Israeli forces hold a position during clashes with Palestinian protesters in the village of Silwad, northwest of Ramallah, on December 26, 2015. They were aged 17 and 23 according to the Palestinian health ministry. “The terrorist is under arrest”, a police statement said. No Israelis were injured in this attack either. Palestinians say the violence stems from frustration at almost five decades of Israeli military rule.
Official peace talks between the two sides broke down in April 2014 with both sides accusing the other of violating the terms of the negotiations.

Violence has also been prompted by anger over stepped-up Israeli visits to Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
