If Biden Joins Presidential Race, Who Will President Obama Get Behind?

While some Democrats have fretted over early stumbles by the clear frontrunner, Clinton remains the overwhelming favorite of the party establishment. Even if there were people who don’t know Hillary well enough to be persuaded, she clearly lacks the natural political talent that Bill has, or her favorables wouldn’t be collapsing, especially among otherwise loyal Democratic constituencies.

Priebus said that a lot of people like Biden, regardless of whether they agree with his politics. “How many Pennsylvanians have to lose their jobs in order to appease President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s liberal agenda?” With the personalities involved and a story as good as the standoff between an incumbent president’s secretary of state and his vice president, there’s no reason to believe the Biden talk will ever fade completely, at least not until each state has finished printing its ballots next year.

Biden has long exhibited comparable qualities, sometimes to his own detriment. Hillary Clinton announced that she started a presidential campaign in behalf of those women that struggle for their family’s happiness: in the first video of the campaign, Clinton tells about her mother’s hard and unhappy childhood. “And I think some Democratic primary voters would welcome that”.

At the moment, Biden’s priority continues to be his family’s well-being. “We by no means thought that this was going to be straightforward”, Palmieri stated. He can not come out against Joe Biden.

Biden is likely to decide by late summer, the Times reported. Reporter: If Biden runs, it’s quite a dilemma for the boss. In fact, Biden’s late son Beau allegedly urged his father to run for the White House in 2016 before he died of brain cancer in May.

The widespread fondness for Biden in Democratic circles does not change the challenging political realities with which he would be faced, however.

Moreover, there is widespread skepticism in Democratic ranks that Biden really will run.

But the entry of Biden in the race, if he does, would throw up a fresh challenge to Clinton’s second presidential bid. He has been further helped by the relative weakness of Clinton’s two main rivals: Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley.

“The country is ready for him to enter the race”. Some are doubtful, others argue he should not be counted out.

No one, after all, spent much time obsessing over Dick Cheney ’08 rumors.

A Biden bid would also create an obvious dilemma for Obama. And Biden will be wise to keep in mind what happened to him in 2008 in Iowa when he got only 1 percent of the vote and dropped out of the race.

Biden, Goldstein said, might “run more on who he is and what he’s done”, citing his 36 years in the Senate, experience as one of the most engaged vice presidents in a century, and a focus on issues ranging from protecting the middle class to the crises in Iraq and Ukraine.

Earnest also commented that “the vice president has earned the right to make a decision for himself on his own timeline whether to pursue a campaign for president in 2016”.
