If I Had Been President, Khan’s Son Would Still Be Alive
They spoke of their son, Humayun, who chose to join the Army out of appreciation for the United States.

President Barack Obama has said Republican nominee Donald Trump is unfit to be president, and questioned why his party still supports the NY billionaire’s candidacy.
Marlboro Councilman Jeff Cantor-a candidate in the Monmouth County sheriff race-added his name to the list of those criticizing GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump for his comments about Humayun and Ghazala Khan, the parents of a slain Muslim American soldier.
Among the signatories are Sergio and Lupe Torres of Fort Worth, parents of Army Sgt. Daniel Torres, who was killed in Iraq on February 4, 2005, at age 23, a week after finding out he would become a father, and Torres’ aunt, Beatriz Saldivar.
Since making the comments many Republicans and Democrats alike have come out against Trump.
Vallone spoke of how she was on pins and needles every day until her son returned home from Afghanistan in 2010. Mr Hanna said Mr Trump’s comments about the Khan family were the deciding factor.
“This story is not about Mr. Khan, who is all over the place doing interviews, but rather RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISM and the U.S. Get smart!” the Republican presidential nominee wrote. “Let me ask you, have you even read the United States Constitution?” he said.
Ghazala Khan later explained that she didn’t speak at the convention because she was in too much emotional pain. “We can never repay the debt of one who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country”.
And that’s not good news for Trump. “If I become President, I will make America safe again”.
While Cantor’s statement said his denouncement of Trump was unrelated to politics, he did mention a Monmouth County Republican Committee fundraiser held on July 7 called the “Star-Spangled Spectacular”.
Khan and his wife have both condemned Trump, saying he “knows nothing of sacrifice”. He was a damn draft dodger.
“The man doesn’t have an essence”, Saldivar said of Trump in an interview with NBCDFW.com.
Cantor is a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. She later said she was overcome with grief.
Donald Trump: “I saw him”.
Barnes, 84, recalled his time in Korea, on the front lines, and carrying some of his fellow soldiers off the battle field. He was an Army specialist killed in Iraq, who was also posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.

Soon after McCain’s criticism, many other party Senators also lambasted Trump for his remarks against the family. “I can’t think of anything”, he said.
