Ighalo is our most important player – Watford coach

Although Watford have signed a host of new players since gaining promotion to the Premier League, Bellerin is still friends with several squad members and has been impressed with the way Quique Sanchez Flores’ side have started in the top flight.

Ighalo, who has scored five of the six goals scored by Watford in the Premiership paid tribute to his captain, Troy Deeney for assisting him for his goals. No other player in England has scored more times in 2015.

But that is unlikely to dampen the enthusiasm of any potential suitors he may have in the January transfer window, particularly if he keeps finding the back of the net.

The Watford head coach said: “Odion had the chance to go out in the summer, but he chose to stay here and that was an wonderful decision”.

“I’m not scared about Ighalo”, said Flores ahead of Saturday’s clash with Arsenal.

He has scored 21 goals in 2015, the most by any player in all four divisions of English football. “I’m very happy with him and I’m not even thinking about what might happen in the winter market”.

None of this should worry Arsenal though as we are in such fine form, and we will have a deep knowledge of the way they play as our very own Hector Bellerin spent three months on loan at Vicarage Road.

Watford face title contenders Arsenal Saturday with Flores joining the chorus of approval that his opposite number Arsene Wenger has lasted 19 years with the Gunners.
