Iheanancho scores, City set record with Bournemouth rout

Hull’s Robert Snodgrass pulled a goal back from the penalty spot, but Sanchez calmed any jitters in the Arsenal ranks when he rifled high into the net and Granit Xhaka rounded off the scoring with bullet finish from distance in stoppage time.

“Bournemouth are the best side we have faced this season”, Guardiola told BBC Radio Five Live.

Kevin De Bruyne, Kelechi Iheanacho, Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan were on target as City extended their 100 per cent start to the season with a fifth straight win that sees them top the standings by five points.

“We are so lucky we have Kevin with us”, the coach said.

At the heart of it all is De Bruyne, who looks the complete midfielder all season, his tireless running allied to such intelligence and skill that it is now easy to believe that had injury not sidelined him for two months last season City would have won the title.

De Bruyne, 25, was the man of the match in City’s 2-1 win at derby rivals Manchester United last weekend, scoring their opening goal and helping tee up Iheanacho for what proved to be the victor.

The Super Eagles striker returned the favour to Raheem Sterling with an assist, as the England worldwide stirred the ball beyond the goal line.

The timing and weight of his angled pass to the onrushing Gundogan was ideal, and the Germany midfielder marked his Premier League debut by slotting his finish into the corner.

“I thought they were a level above us, but I feel we could have done a lot better”. “Kevin is there with the rest”.

Eight wins on a trot represents the best start to a season in City’s history, surpassing the seven consecutive victories from the 1897-98 campaign, when Darwen, Loughborough and Gainsborough were among their opponents.

It’s been a good week for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

Five games, 15 goals scored and four conceded.

It looked like Iwobi had scored his first league goal for the season when Arsenal went in front after 17 minutes, but the goal was later credited to Alexi Sanchez with Iwobi the provider.

“It was a great performance from the team today”, the Nigerian said after netting his third goal in three games.

De Bruyne is not one of the Premier League’s off-field showmen.

In other results, defending champions Leicester City beat Burnley 3-0 and West Brom beat West Ham 4-2.

Ben Mee’s own goal from Riyad Mahrez’s cross completed the scoring in the 78th minute.

Seamus Coleman gave Everton the lead three minutes before halftime when he danced past two Middlesbrough defenders and passed the ball into the net and just before the break Romelu Lukaku converted a Yannick Bolasie cross.

Salomon Rondon and James McClean scored the others and though Michail Antonio and Manuel Lanzini pulled two goals back in quick succession, it was too little too late.
