Ikea Lovingly Turned These 10 Children’s Drawings Into Actual Plush Toys

The 10 winning designs were created by youngsters aged between four and 10, from countries such as Norway, Malaysia, Romania and Taiwan.

And for every soft toy or children’s book sold in Ikea from November 1 until December 26, $1.50 will be donated to educational projects.

The Soft Toys for Education initiative was launched in 2003.

Since launching the charity effort in 2003, the Ikea Foundation has donated more than $90 million to global children’s causes. And since it’s all about helping children, this year IKEA actually had them design the plush toys being sold for the campaign.

Ms McSeveney said: “We believe every child has the right to a healthy, secure childhood and access to quality education, no matter where in the world they live”.

The other shows a few of the toys coming to life inside a store, with one cute little guy saying on behalf of the toys, “we may be soft, but we’re working hard so more children can go to school”. My favorite part of this year’s stuffed animal sale is that it allowed children from all over the world to take part in it. The organization is ultimately about empowering kids, and what better way to empower them than to give them the opportunity to see something they imagined visualized? Yet, millions of children are still not afforded this right. The limited-edition items are part of the Swedish company’s Soft Toys for Education Campaign, in which a portion of the sales from the super soft (and super awesome) toys are given to UNICEF and Save the Children to support children’s education projects.
