IKEA nightlights recalled due to shock hazard
IKEA recommends any customer who purchased the light stop using it immediately.

IKEA is offering a refund for over 350,000 children’s nightlights due to an electrical shock hazard.
About 359,000 Patrull nightlights were sold in the U.S. and 83,000 sold in Canada.
Although there have been no reports of injury in Canada, IKEA is recalling PATRULL nightlights.
The plastic covering on the nightlight can come off and expose electrical components, posing an electrical shock hazard.
“We have researched and tested 600 products, and all proved to be completely safe in terms of legal standards, but we have nonetheless decided to withdraw [the Patrull lamp] because there has been an incident”, she told the paper. The nightlight is 2 ¾ inches round and 3 ½ inches deep. This could lead to an electric shock. They were sold from August 2013 to July for about $4.
The recall was announced by the company along with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC’s work to ensure the safety of consumer products – such as toys, cribs, power tools, cigarette lighters and household chemicals – contributed to a decline in the rate of deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past 40 years.
