The queen’s illness means king Willem-Alexander made a solo visit to a traditional neighbourhood in Beijing and the Dutch pavilion at the Beijing Design Week exhibition on Monday. There she will undergo more tests and receive treatment for her kidney infection. According to Hello Magazine, the Queen has pyelitis. The Dutch Queen was examined by a doctor and diagnosed with pyelitis, an inflammation of the renal pelvis that is fairly common and can be cured without great difficulty. Pyelitis can cause acute pains as well as bladder irritability.

Máxima had been accompanying her husband King Willem-Alexander on the trip, where she managed to hide any signs of discomfort as they attended a banquet with their hosts, Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Madame Peng Liyuan on Monday. The Queen was scheduled to leave China on Tuesday night.

King Willem-Alexander told Xi that his country is ready to join the Beijing-led AIIB, and supports the proposal to combine the Belt and Road Initiative with the Investment Plan for Europe.

China has more than 500 companies in the Netherlands, and more than 3,000 Dutch companies are operating in China.

“The two countries had enjoyed pretty close trade links but relatively cool political ties in recent years”.
