(Image) Leicester City snakes show true colours after Claudio Ranieri sacking

As is normally the case, players are usually itching to get out a social media post thanking a teammate or manager, but on this occasion, Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, Wes Morgan and many others have all stayed silent on the matter.

Now that Ranieri has gone, the only ones who can save Leicester are the players – the same group who have put the club in the predicament they are currently in.

“After winning it past year to see them in the depths of where they are now is a tough one – but they are in dire situation and maybe they do need a change to give the team lift”.

‘I will never be truly able to thank him for everything he has helped me achieve and the faith he has shown in me and he knows that I always did my best for him’.

“If there is a direct way to the board, the owners sit with the players and ask “how are you?’ and they say ‘not too good because of the manager”.

“We have done our best as a management”, he said in a statement before closing his account on the site.

“I would like to thank Claudio for everything he’s done for Leicester City Football Club, and for me personally”, he wrote on Instagram.

If a manager doesn’t have the backing of his own players then he’s just fighting a losing battle and the fact that the club would make such a monumental decision at this time with so much on the line, would hint that this was the case.

Former England captain Lineker, who spent the first seven years of his career at hometown club Leicester, scoring 95 goals, said he was struggling to comprehend Ranieri’s departure.

Claudio Ranieri admitted his dream had died after he was ruthlessly sacked as Leicester manager in a brutal move that brought the wrath of the football world down on the troubled champions’ Thai owners.

The Reds need to win to climb back into the top four while Leicester’s caretaker manager Craig Shakespeare searches for a victory to ease their relegation fears. A lot of it has been speculation, no foundation, ‘ he said.

“The team is having trouble, but what Ranieri did last season was incredible”. They are now 18th in the table, two points above bottom side Sunderland.

He said: “It would be nice to get that again”.

“There is enough talent in that dressing room for us to go on a winning run”. I told the boys do it even when the public are aware of it being without the manager.

“I think they should have a statue of him there and I think they should start that in the morning”.

“Momentum is a big word in football”.

“While the players took an very bad lot of credit past year – and rightly so – somewhere along the way you have to take a little bit of criticism”.
