Eight months after the iconic musician died following his secret battle with cancer, his 61-year-old widow made a fearless public appearance at Tom Ford’s Fall 2016 collection show at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday (07.09.16).
Worldwide supermodel Iman took some time on Wednesday night to reflect on her late husband of nearly 25 years, David Bowie, who died in January after battling cancer. She snapped a selfie with her fellow model, writing: “With the lovely @cindycrawford @tomford tonight!”
Speaking to People, Iman said: ‘It’s just been a tough year, but I’m holding up’.
Iman, 69, looked sensational for her big night out, wearing a midnight blue velvet suit.
“I’m wearing this until my death”.
And when told that she is a survivor, she replied: ‘Not as much as you think’.
She’s rarely been seen at any showbiz events since but has paid tribute to her late husband – who she married in 1992 – many times since he passed away in January at the age of 69. Bar several Instagram posts and day-to-day outings, Iman has been keeping a low profile since losing the love of her life.
“They really knew each other because they had come up and traveled in the same circles”.
