Immigrants Support Trump’s Ideological Test
Donald Trump is due to deliver a speech in Youngstown, Ohio later this afternoon detailing his counterterrorism strategy & his immigration proposals.

While Trump sought to take his approach to confronting terrorism beyond his heated rhetoric and policies, vowing to work with moderate Muslim communities and countries, the billionaire also called on the U.S. to guard against admitting immigrants and refugees from countries with widespread anti-gay, anti-Semitic or misogynistic views and laws.
Those attending the speech were clearly pleased with Trump’s pledge to slam the brakes on immigration, but as in all policy matters, the devil is in the details.
The New York Times reported handwritten ledgers uncovered by anti-corruption investigators in Ukraine showed undisclosed payments of $12.7 million designated for Mr Manafort from former Ukrainian leader Viktor Yanukovych’s political party. The newspaper says Manafort’s lawyer denied his client received any such payments.
“All actions should be oriented around this goal and any country which shares this goal will be our ally”.
Trump’s expected call to work with Muslim allies comes against a backdrop of fierce criticism and condemnation of the Republican candidate from Muslims in the United States and overseas since December, when he proposed “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the US”. He introduced a new standard following the June massacre at a gay nightclub in Orlando, vowing to “suspend immigration from areas of the world where there is a proven history of terrorism against the United States, Europe or our allies, until we fully understand how to end these threats”. The test would include social media searches, written quizzes, and interviews, through which applicants will be assessed for “values like tolerance and pluralism”. He’ll also call for declaring in explicit terms that, like during the Cold War, the U.S.is in an ideological conflict with radical Islam.
Quoting the Republican candidate, Hassan Nasrallah also accused Mr. Trump’s Democratic Party competitor Hillary Clinton of helping create the militant group.
While Trump has been criticized for failing to lay out detailed policies, aides say Monday’s speech will again focus on his broader vision.
Mr Trump said he would suspend immigration from “some of the most risky and volatile regions of the world, that have a history of exporting terrorism”.
Trump called for a “new approach” to fighting terror, slamming the policies put in place by Obama and Clinton, who served as his first secretary of state. Obama has made ending nation building a central part of his foreign policy argument for years. Biden called Trump’s views “dangerous” and “un-American” and warned that Trump’s false assertions last week about President Obama founding the Islamic State could be used by extremists to target American service members in Iraq.
“Stay tuned, it’s very early in this campaign”.

The right of center newspaper “The Wall Street Journal” editorial board called Monday for Trump to change his ways and campaign with more discipline – or step aside in favor of his vice presidential running mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence.
